Wednesday and Thursday

Wednesday

We did not do too much today. Eugenie was leaving, and we were all very sad. Don drove us all to Chippewa Valley Regional Airport. It is very close to us. Don did not think I could cry and drive at the same time, and I did not think Elizabeth could cry and drive at the same time! I told Javier that this happens when he leaves us, too!

Thursday

Today was a strange day. No one really wanted to do anything. Elizabeth did not go to her Cheering Camp, and William and Javier decided not to go to their Strength and Conditioning Class. Instead, the boys played on their ipods, on the computer, and outside.

The Host Family Pot Luck Dinner was held at Riverview Park which is along the east side of the Chippewa River. Elizabeth's friend, Damien, came along with us. Sabrina, a former host family's daughter from Chippewa Falls, came to see Elizabeth, Javier, William, and Hannah. We also met Jaime, Paloma, and one of their friends from Spain. :-)

After an hour, the Cramers and Raymonds drove over to the soccer field for William, Javier, and Jaime's game. They played against a few former team mates, namely Seth. Seth and Javier were often fighting for control of the ball during the game! :-) After the game, the boys got together to talk and have a photo taken together. :-)

Monday and Tuesday

Monday

Don went in for a routine colonoscopy (he is 50 years old and the doctors like to have you checked at that age), so the children were on their own. Sort of. No one answered the many wake-up calls I made, or heard the messages I left on the answering machine. So, Don sent me back home to get the children up! :-}

Elizabeth, William, Eugenie, and Javier went to a Strength and Conditioning class at Memorial High School. It is a free gym class for children who are going out for sports. Mr. Kite, the coach, said Javier and Eugenie could take the class, too. Mr. Kite moved to the US 18 years ago from England, so he is from "across the 'puddle' (the Atlantic Ocean)", too! :-)

When they got back home, William and Javier went outside to practice soccer. Elizabeth and Eugenie put photos in their scrapbooks. We had grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch. Elizabeth and Eugenie picked up friends and went to another friend's home for a going away party for Eugenie--around a bonfire. :-) Jenny (Eugenie) leaves Eau Claire on Wednesday. :'{

Javier, William, and Hannah played games inside. After dinner, they all played on their Ipods and watched a little bit of tv.

Tuesday

William, Elizabeth, Eugenie and I spent two hours at the doctor's. Elizabeth and William needed a sport's physical so they could participate in sports in High School. Elizabeth saw a different doctor. William's doctor takes a very long time with his patients. Almost too long, if you ask William!

We did not have much time when we got home. Hannah made Natchos--corn chips with melted cheese on top--for a quick dinner before I took Javier and William to soccer practice and their soccer game. Jaime was already there when we got to the soccer field. They saw several former team mates from last year and the year before. The boys played with the soccer ball and watched part of two former team mates play after their game. Then Jordan and Nate who are brothers, posed for a photo and then talked some more.

Saturday and Sunday

Saturday

The boys both arrived safely! :-) We saw Jaime, first. He was quickly whisked away by the Cramer family before we even spotted Javier! :-)

Javier got off the bus quickly, too. We would have been one of the first ones to leave to go home..., but I was busy talking to people! My children would say that is not at all unusual for me, which is true! :-D

Javier is so tall! He is taller than William and Elizabeth!!! And me! :-) Here is a photo of the children.

Sunday

We went to Chippewa Valley Bible Church in the morning. We stayed for a going-away luncheon for Brian and Dawn who were the youth directors at the church.

Later in the afternoon, the children an I went to Lowes Creek County Park for about a one hour walk. We took Earl with us, too--Earl loves this park! :-) Elizabeth and her friend Damian arrived at the park. They came after we had arrived. We could not find them, and they could not find us. As we were driving out of the parking lot, they saw us driving away! They met us back home a few minutes later. :-)

We got something to drink at home. Then I took them to Carson Park to see statues of the very American Paul Bunyon and Babe which Javier has already seen. Next, we drove through part of the University of Wisconsin of Eau Claire to see the "UWEC" on the hill (like you see on postcards). We quickly went into Putnam Park which is right along the Chippewa River by UWEC to see Little Niagra. Javier has also seen this. Eugenie's cousin recently saw Niagra Falls up along the Canadian and United States border, so I wanted her to say she saw Niagra, too! :-)

We went home and ate Rice, Meat, and Sauerkraut. It is a Hungarian dish my mother used to make. I put red kidney beans in with it, too, so my mom has told me it is now a Hungarian and Mexican meal! :-}
